Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi to participate in funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Iran
SRINAGAR/BUDGAM: Under the auspices of Anjuman Sharie Shian Jammu and Kashmir, solemn religious commemorations marking Youm-e-Ashura were observed across the Kashmir Valley with deep reverence and devotion, with scores of Zuljanah processions taken out in different parts of the Valley drawing tens of thousands of mourners who paid homage to the supreme sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and the martyrs of Karbala.
The largest Ashura procession was led by the President of Anjuman Sharie Shian, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi, from ImambaraMirgund, Budgam, passing through its traditional route before culminating at Dar-ul-Mustafa, the residence of the late Aga Syed Mustafa Mosavi Al-Safvi (RA) in Budgam. Another major Zuljanah procession was taken out from Gulshan Bagh, Madin Sahib, Bota Kadal, Srinagar, and concluded at Khanqah Mir Shamsuddin Araqi (RA), Zadibal, Srinagar, attended by Hujjat-ul-Islam Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safvi, representing the President of Anjuman Sharie Shian.
The Ashura processions witnessed participation of tens of thousands of mourners, including men, women, youth, and elderly devotees, who joined the commemorations in a peaceful and disciplined manner.
According to an Anjuman statement issued here, Friday prayers were offered at Shaheed Aga Syed Mohammad Hussain Memorial Park, Behesht-e-Zehra (AS), Budgam, under the leadership of Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi. Addressing the congregation in his Ashura sermon, he highlighted various dimensions of the tragedy of Karbala, stating that the martyrdom of the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Imam Hussain (AS), along with his loyal family members and companions, represents the eternal triumph of truth, justice, and moral values over tyranny, oppression, and arrogance.
He said that the epic of Karbala permanently dismantled the legitimacy of coercive and tyrannical rule, adding that after the Battle of Karbala, no ruler ever dared to demand allegiance from the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in the manner that had been attempted before the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS).
On the sidelines of the Ashura commemorations, it was announced that Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi has received an invitation to participate in the funeral procession of the martyred Rahbar of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the statement said. “The invitation is being regarded as a significant gesture of recognition of his longstanding religious and scholarly standing and his close spiritual association with the leadership of the Islamic Revolution.”
According to the announcement, Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safvi is expected to join distinguished religious scholars and international dignitaries in paying their respects during the funeral ceremonies in Iran.
Besides Mirgund and Gulshan Bagh, Ashura processions were also held under the banner of Anjuman Sharie Shian in numerous areas across the Valley, including Budgam, Chadoora, Magam, Beerwah, Khag, Khan Sahib, Srinagar, Sonawari, Bandipora, Pattan, Baramulla, Uri, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Tral, and Anantnag, along with several adjoining villages and localities. The commemorations concluded peacefully, with mourners reaffirming the timeless message of Karbala upholding truth, justice, sacrifice, and human dignity in the face of oppression.
