The Jammu and Kashmir Police today constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the attack on a bus carrying Amarnath yatris on July 10 in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, media reports said.
According to a news gathering agency, the SIT will be headed by DIG South Kashmir, SP Pani. It also includes SSP Anantnag, Altaf Ahmad Khan.
Seven Amarnath yatris were killed and 21 injured when suspected militants attacked a bus carrying yatris in Batengoo, Anantnag.
Police had earlier claimed that attack was carried out by Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit. However, LeT had denied any links to the attack.
