Noted educationist, poet Dr Ali Mohammad Nishtar given warm send-off on retirement

BANDIPORA: Government Higher Secondary School Shahgund hosted a heartwarming retirement function to honor Dr Ali Mohammad Nishtar, a noted educationist, poet and Principal of the GHSS, who retired after dedicating 34 years to the service of education.
The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including the CEO of Bandipora, principals, Heads of Departments (HoDs), the Chief Spokesperson of JKTF and EJAC, General Secretary JKTF, senior lecturers, lecturers, and other teaching and non-teaching staff of the school education department. Chief Spokesperson JKTF, EJAC, Mir Bashir Ahmad, lauded Dr Nishtar’s exceptional contributions in enhancing educational standards. His strategic leadership, visionary approach, and unwavering commitment were hailed as instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence in education.
CEO of Bandipora, Dr GM Puju, extended congratulations to Dr Nishtar on the successful culmination of his illustrious career, acknowledging his passion and dedication towards his profession. Dr Ali Mohammad Nishtar, in his address, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all his colleagues and staff members for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure. In recognition of his service, several mementos were presented to the retiring principal.
The function also featured captivating cultural performances by students, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
Dr Ali Mohammad Nishtar began his journey in the education department on July 10, 1990, and concluded his service on April 30, 2024, after nearly three and a half decades of dedicated service. He was honored with the State award in 2014 by the Department of Culture, J&K. Notably, he holds the distinction of being the first scholar from the humanities department of Kashmir University to be awarded two gold medals and to qualify for NET and JRF.
