BANDIPORA: 83 candidates in fray for Phase-IV of DDC and Panchayat by-elections in Aloosa Block of Bandipora district.
According to District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) seven candidates are in fray for Aloosa constituency of District Development Council (DDC) while five candidates are contesting on two vacant Sarpanch seats in the block and 71 candidates are fighting for 31 Panch seats. However, 21 Panchs were elected unopposed while three Panch seats are vacant.
15961 voters will exercise their franchise including 8367 Male voters and 7594 female voters at 42 polling stations of Aloosa, DDC constituency.
Meanwhile, Adequate arrangements have been made by the district administration to ensure smooth conducts of polls.
Also, amid tight security, 42 designated polling parties along with election/poll material were today dispatched to the Polling stations set up in Aloosa block.
