Jammu: Three bovines were found dead in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir triggering protests by people Monday.
The bovines were found dead in Krimichi belt in Udhampur which is a religious place in the district, as people, shouting slogans, took to roads protesting the incident, a senior police officer said.
The bodies of the animals were taken by police and post mortem conducted on it, the officer said, adding that a case was registered and investigation was going on.
The protests were brought under control after police pacified the agitators, promising to arrest the culprits involved in the crime, he said.
