SUMBAL: Commandant of 45 Battalion CRPF Apoorv has won widespread appreciation for spearheading humanitarian outreach initiatives that have taken free healthcare services to some of the most remote and underserved areas of north Kashmir.
During the past two years, the battalion has organised nearly Thirty free medical camps across its area of responsibility under his leadership.
The outreach has primarily focused on villages with limited access to healthcare facilities, where residents often face difficulties in obtaining basic medical treatment. Despite difficult terrain and logistical constraints, the battalion has ensured that medical teams, medicines and other essential arrangements reach these far-flung areas.
Besides healthcare, 45 Battalion CRPF has also been organising sports events and other community outreach programmes to engage local youth and strengthen public relations.
In addition to medical camps, sports event, the battalion, under the leadership of Commandant Apoorv, has undertaken several community welfare initiatives. These include computer training and stitching courses exclusively for girls belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, aimed at equipping them with employable skills and promoting self-reliance.
Apart from this, more than 200 people benefited under the CRPF’s MADADGAR scheme, which provided specialized medical treatment, costly medicines, self-employment tools, books for students, and other forms of assistance
The initiatives are aimed at fostering trust and promoting positive interaction between the CRPF and the local population.
Residents from several villages said the sustained outreach has benefited hundreds of people and appreciated the role of Commandant Apoorv in ensuring that essential services reach communities living in remote areas that are often left out of regular healthcare coverage.
