Delegation discusses GST grievances, regulatory issues

SRINAGAR: A delegation of the Traders Association Lal Chowk, led by Vice President SPS Rattan, along with Jatinder Singh and Nisar, met with the Commissioner of CGST Department today for a productive and positive dialogue on various GST regulations affecting local traders.
The delegation successfully presented and discussed several key points and grievances regarding GST regulations, including the issues related to GST compliance and procedural bottlenecks faced by small and medium traders; challenges in filing returns and availing input tax credit; concerns over frequent changes in GST rates and their impact on business operations; need for simplified compliance mechanisms for local traders, and grievances regarding the implementation of e-invoicing and its challenges for small businesses.
The Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured full cooperation in addressing the genuine concerns of the trading community. The department assured that:
– The issues raised would be examined on priority
– Efforts would be made to simplify compliance procedures for small traders
– A mechanism would be put in place for timely resolution of GST-related grievances
– The department would work towards creating a more trader-friendly environment
The association shared memorable moments and tokens of appreciation with the department officials during the visit, reflecting the cordial and constructive relationship between the trading community and the tax administration.
Both sides expressed commitment to continuing the dialogue for the benefit of the trading community and the overall economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
