HAJIN: Wahab Cultural Society Hajin enthralled the audience on Tuesday after staging a play titled ‘Intiqaam’ at Town Hall, Municipal Committee here.
The play was written by the late theatre artist Lateef Ashiq, who passed away in 2006, and was sponsored by the J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Srinagar.
The audience appreciated the play that focused on the eradication of social evils and human weakness in society.
The play was directed by Sargar Sarafraz. Artists who performed in the play included Irshad Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmad and Mehraj-ud-Din.
Condolence prayers were also offered at the start of the programme for late Lateef Ashiq and other theatre personalities.
President Wahab D Cultural Society, Riyaz-ul-Hassan, thanked the audience and said the society would continue to promote theatre and the Kashmiri language. He also thanked the Ministry of Culture for its support.
