HAJIN: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sumbal on Tuesday sought the cooperation of local residents for the restoration of embankments in Hajin that had collapsed a few months ago.
The SDM held an important meeting with members of the Traders Federation and heads of several families residing near the affected area. During the meeting, he urged the residents to temporarily vacate the site until the restoration work is completed, stating that the safety of the people remains the administration’s top priority.
He said the work cannot be initiated unless the families shift from the area, as there is a risk of further erosion of the road due to the movement of heavy machinery at the site.
The SDM assured the affected families that temporary accommodation would be arranged for them during the execution of the work. He also emphasised that public cooperation is crucial for the timely and smooth completion of the restoration work to prevent any future threat to life and property.
