SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has expressed deep grief and profound sorrow over the demise of the eminent Islamic scholar and revered spiritual guide, Hazrat Pir Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi.
Describing his passing as an irreparable spiritual and missionary loss to the Muslim Ummah, he said that the late Pir Sahib was a beacon of guidance in the realms of self-reformation, spiritual purification, and quiet yet profoundly impactful service to Islam.
He said that Hazrat Pir Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi dedicated his entire life to awakening spiritual consciousness, nurturing moral refinement, and strengthening a sincere bond with Allah among countless followers across the world.
Dr. Farooq prayed that Allah Almighty grant the departed soul the highest ranks in Jannatul Firdous, accept his lifelong religious and spiritual services, and bestow patience, strength, and fortitude upon the bereaved family, disciples, and admirers during this time of immense loss.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today paid rich tributes to the party’s veteran leader and towering political figure, Sadr-Ud-Din Mujahid, on his death anniversary.
In their tribute message, the duo recalled the invaluable contribution of Sadr-Ud-Din Mujahid to the party and to the political and social life of Jammu and Kashmir. They described him as a principled leader, an astute parliamentarian, and a committed ideologue who devoted his entire life to the service of the people and to strengthening democratic values in the region.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that Sadr-Ud-Din Mujahid was among the most respected faces of the National Conference, whose integrity, political wisdom, and unwavering commitment to secularism and democratic ethos earned him admiration across party lines. “His selfless service, clarity of thought, and deep understanding of public issues continue to inspire generations of party workers and young political activists,” he said.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that Sadr-Ud-Din Mujahid’s political journey was marked by courage, dignity, and steadfast dedication to the cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Mujahid Sahib played a significant role in shaping the party’s policies and strengthening democratic institutions during challenging times. “His legacy remains a guiding light for the National Conference as we work to uphold the values he stood for and to fulfil the aspirations of the people,” he said.
Meantime party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Advisor to HCM Nasir Aslam Wani reaffirmed the National Conference’s resolve to carry forward the vision, principles, and ideals of Sadr-Ud-Din Mujahid and to continue working for peace, dignity, and inclusive development in Jammu and Kashmir.
