Must read

HAJIN: Young Voices, a people’s forum initiative, on Sunday organised its first-ever youth interaction programme at Kathpora, Hajin, aimed at engaging young minds and addressing issues confronting today’s youth.
The programme was presided over by the Officer Commanding (OC) of 13 RR and witnessed the presence of EJAC General Secretary Mir Bashir Ahmad, Afaq Siddiq, and a large number of enthusiastic youths from the area.
Speakers on the occasion lauded the efforts of Aafaq Sadiq for taking the initiative to create a platform for unemployed youth, particularly to explore opportunities for employment in the private sector. They emphasised the need for such forums to guide young people, channel their energies positively, and help them become self-reliant.
Addressing the gathering, Sadiq said Young Voices is a small but sincere, non-political initiative aimed at uniting youth and sensitising them about their basic issues. He said the forum would work to raise awareness about injustices faced by young people in various departments, while also addressing the growing menace of drug abuse in society.
He added that the forum would remain open to all volunteers who wish to join and contribute towards highlighting genuine public issues. Aafaq Sadiq further said efforts would be made to connect unemployed youth with business tycoons and professionals so that suitable employment avenues could be explored.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, during which youths shared their concerns and suggestions, expressing hope that such initiatives would continue in the future to empower and uplift the younger generation.
