SRINAGAR: On World Heritage Day, the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and the Indian Buildings Congress (J&K Chapter) organized a well-attended webinar focused on the significance of heritage conservation. The event attracted participants from across the country, highlighting the importance of cultural preservation.
Keynote speakers included Dr. Hakim Sameer Hamdani, Design Director at INTACH, and Dr. Rohit Jigyasu, Programme Manager at the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) in Rome, Italy. The webinar was coordinated by Er. Aamir Ali, Chairman of IBC (J&K Chapter), and Dr. Amir Khan from NIDM, with Avipsha Mohanty serving as the moderator.
Notable attendees included Executive Director of Indian Buildings Congress, Dr. Inderjeet Singh Sidhu, along with other IBC officials and students from various engineering colleges. The Principal of Government Polytechnic College Baramulla facilitated special arrangements for students to join the session in the college’s meeting hall.
Participants appreciated the insightful presentations from the experts and actively engaged in a lively question-and-answer session, underscoring the webinar’s success in fostering dialogue on heritage conservation.
