Dir Agri visits various areas in Shopian

SRINAGAR: Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal, the Director of Agriculture in Kashmir, conducted a comprehensive visit to several locations within Shopian district on Thursday to assess the agricultural landscape in the region. During his visit, the Director inspected paddy nurseries and vegetable fields across the district.
Addressing gatherings of farmers at different sites, the Director emphasized the department’s commitment to developing a robust agriculture marketing model. He assured farmers that efforts were underway to provide them with a wide array of marketing options, aimed at enabling them to maximize returns on their produce.
Expressing contentment, the Director noted that agricultural produce from the region was gaining traction in new markets, which was a promising development.
Highlighting the significance of the Horticulture Action Development Plan (HADP), the Director stressed its role in bolstering the vegetable sector within the region. Additionally, during his visit to various organic vegetable clusters in Zainpora, Shopian, he underscored the importance of organic vegetable cultivation.
The Director reassured farmers of the department’s unwavering support at every stage of their journey towards success.
Accompanying the Director were the Chief Agriculture Officer of Shopian and several other departmental officials.
