HAJIN: The Physical Education and Sports Department of Government Degree College (GDC) Hajin organized a road race on Thursday as part of SVEEP activities to raise awareness about the importance of voting. It was flagged off by the Principal of GDC Hajin, Dr Zahoor Ahmad.
The race started at High School Baharabad Hajin and culminated at the college campus, covering a distance of 2 kilometres.
The event was attended by Professor Mehraj ud Din, Head of the Political Science Department, Professor Javid Ahmad, and Professor Falak Feroz.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Principal Dr Zahoor Ahmad emphasized that the primary objective of the race was to raise awareness about the significance of democratic participation, particularly in the context of the upcoming elections.
More than 20 students participated in the road race. Abrar ul Farooq secured the 6th position, Sajad Ahmad of Semester 4 won the 2nd position, and Owais Altaf of Semester 3 won the 3rd position.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Hajin, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed certificates among the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position holders.
