AWANTIPORA: Reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and the vision of a drug-free society, the NSS Unit of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), in collaboration with the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, organized an environmental conservation programme at Shikargah under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA).
It was led by Dr. Tariq Ahmad Ganaie, Programme Coordinator, NSS, IUST, along with Dr. G. N. Itoo, Nodal Officer, NMBA, IUST. Students, NSS volunteers and departmental officials participated enthusiastically. The initiative highlighted the close relationship between environmental conservation, healthy living and the vision of a drug-free society. Participants undertook cleanliness and waste collection activities, spreading awareness on protecting natural ecosystems and adopting healthy, substance-free lifestyles. The programme concluded with a pledge to protect the environment and promote the ideals of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
