Speaking on the occasion, the office bearers of Shehlat Foundation said that Jammu and Kashmir has been blessed by Almighty Allah with lush green meadows, crystal-clear rivers and streams, majestic glaciers, deep valleys, and breathtaking waterfalls that attract visitors from across the world. “Protecting these priceless natural assets is not only our duty but also a responsibility towards future generations,” they said.
The speakers emphasized the need to supplement the efforts of the government to keep streets, lanes, bylanes, and tourist destinations neat, clean, and hygienic. The Foundation emphasized that a clean environment is the cornerstone of a healthy and prosperous society.
The Foundation called upon every citizen to avoid pollution, reduce waste, participate in community-led cleanliness drives, and adopt environmentally responsible practices in daily life. It also urged senior citizens, community leaders, educational institutions, and youth to come forward and lead by example in building an environmentally conscious society.
“Only through collective efforts can we preserve our ecosystem and ensure a cleaner, greener, and healthier Jammu and Kashmir,” the speakers said.
The Pollution-Free Jammu and Kashmir campaign will continue across different districts through awareness programmes, cleanliness drives, and community participation, reinforcing the message that environmental protection is everyone’s responsibility.
