Srinagar: In its continued efforts to curb drug trafficking and dismantle the financial networks of narcotics peddlers, Police in Pulwama has attached a double-storey residential house worth ₹19.65 lakh belonging to a drug peddler involved in an NDPS case.
The attached property comprises a double-storey concrete house built in 2023 over Plot No. 445 measuring 828.5 sq ft at Housing Colony Ompora, Budgam, belonging to Towfeeq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mohd Rafiq Sheikh, a resident of Yariban Hajitra, Karnah, Kupwara (presently residing at Housing Colony Ompora, Budgam), a police spokesperson said.
The property has been attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, 1985, in connection with FIR No. 124/2025 under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Rajpora. Investigation revealed that the property is disproportionate to the known sources of income of the accused and was acquired through proceeds of illicit narcotic trafficking.
“J&K Police remains committed to taking stringent action against drug peddlers and targeting assets derived from the narcotics trade as part of its sustained campaign against the drug menace,” the spokesperson said.
