HAJIN: Halqa-e-Adab Sonawari (HAS) on Saturday organised a condolence meeting at the residence of noted educationist, poet, and its patron, the late Sonaullah Niyaz, in Hajin.
The gathering was attended by writers, poets, and literary enthusiasts from across the Valley, who paid rich tributes to the departed and recalled his significant contributions to literature, education, and social upliftment.
Speakers described Niyaz’s demise as an irreparable loss to Kashmir’s literary fraternity, noting that his legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
Among those present were Mohammad Amin Bhat, Shakir Shafi, Dr. Riyaz-ul-Hasan, Dr. Aadil Mohiuddin, Majeed Majazi, Qawam-ud-Din Shalwati, and Haji Ghulam Nabi Dar, besides several other prominent personalities.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sagar Sarfaraz. Participants offered prayers for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
