SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has urged the administration to ensure comprehensive and efficient arrangements across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the auspicious festival of Baisakhi.
In a statement issued here, party General Secretary Ali Moahmmad Sagar emphasized the need for uninterrupted essential services including smooth transportation, adequate water supply and reliable electricity to facilitate hassle-free Baisakhi celebrations.
He further called upon the administration to make proper arrangements at public parks, gardens and Gurudwaras, which are expected to witness large gatherings of devotees and visitors on the festive occasion.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Shammi Oberoi, Minority Wing Organiser JS Azad also echoed similar sentiments, urging the authorities to proactively ensure all essential services and facilities are available to the people, enabling them to celebrate the festival in a peaceful and joyous atmosphere.
Highlighting the cultural and religious significance of Baisakhi, the duo stressed that ensuring public convenience and safety must remain a top priority. “The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and it is imperative that the administration rises to the occasion by putting in place all necessary civic amenities,” he said.
The duo expressed hope that the administration would take timely measures to ensure a smooth and well-organized celebration of Baisakhi across J&K.
