SRINAGAR: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, describing the development as a moment of profound grief for the Muslim world.
An emergency executive council meeting of the Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) was convened in this regard and was presided over by Vice Chairman Adv. G. N. Shaheen. The meeting was attended by General Secretaries Prince Parveez and Nazir Ahmad Khan, State Secretary Sheikh Ashiq, Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, Spokesperson & PRO to MP Baramulla Firdouse Baba, and Secretary Finance Parveez Ahmad Bhat, where the situation was discussed in detail and a collective tribute was paid.
In a statement issued after the meeting, AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei has deeply saddened millions who regarded him as religious and political leader and resistance. He said such unfortunate situation leave lasting emotional scars and remind humanity of the heavy cost of conflict and confrontation.
Inam said AIP through its Executive Council meeting, conveyed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the people of Iran during this difficult time and prayed for patience and strength for those mourning the loss. “May Allah grant the departed leader the highest place in Jannah and give courage to Muslim Ummah for facing grief and uncertainty,” he said.
The AIP spokesperson emphasized that moments of tragedy should inspire unity, compassion and reflection across the Muslim Ummah. He urged the international community to act with wisdom and restraint to prevent further loss of innocent lives and to prioritise peace and dialogue over escalation.
AIP also appealed to people to remember the departed leader in prayers and to express solidarity in a peaceful and dignified manner, stressing that humanity and justice must prevail over violence and division.
