Srinagar: In a continued and intensified campaign against militancy and its support networks, J&K Police carried out a series of large-scale operations across districts including Kulgam, Ganderbal, Sopore, Handwara, Baramulla, Pulwama, and Awantipora.
These coordinated efforts aimed at disrupting militant infrastructure, deterring anti-national elements, and ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region, a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
Kulgam: For the second consecutive day, police launched a massive crackdown targeting OGWs, militant associates, and sympathisers linked with active and slain militants. Multiple locations were searched based on credible intelligence, with several suspects detained for questioning and incriminating materials seized. The operation is part of a sustained effort to dismantle the militant ecosystem at its grassroots level.
Ganderbal: Police and CAPFs conducted extensive searches at 30 locations, focusing on homes of surrendered and ex-militants. Digital devices and other evidence were recovered to identify support networks aiding militant activities, emphasizing the district’s commitment to maintaining peace.
Sopore: Search operations continued for the second day across over 30 locations linked with JKNOPs, militant handlers, and associates. These operations aimed to disrupt logistical, financial, and ideological support channels, with many OGWs and suspects detained for questioning. Several incriminating materials were seized for forensic analysis.
Handwara: Coordinated cordon and search operations were carried out at multiple locations suspected of sheltering militant supporters and OGWs. Several suspects were detained, and digital devices recovered for forensic review, targeting the militant support infrastructure.
Baramulla: Police conducted searches across 25 properties linked to PoK/Pakistani natives and OGWs, resulting in preventive detention of several individuals and property seizures. Checks were also made on SIM vendors and vehicles to ensure compliance with security norms, reinforcing district-wide efforts to prevent militant activities.
Pulwama: Targeted raids focused on individuals associated with JKNOPs, OGWs, and UAPA-accused persons on bail. Legal formalities were observed, and materials seized to develop leads for further investigation. These ongoing operations aim to dismantle the local militant system and prevent subversive activities.
Awantipora: In a joint operation with security forces, police launched cordon and search operations at various locations, verifying identities and checking suspicious premises. The initiative aims to track militant associates and disrupt anti-national networks.
