Srinagar: Continuing its special drive against absconders, police in Ganderbal achieved another success by arresting one more absconder who had been evading arrest for 13 years.
The arrested individual has been identified as Zafar Iqbal son of Mohd Israyel Gojar resident of Loorte, Rajouri, who was wanted in Case FIR No. 17/2012, U/S 279, 338 IPC of Police Station Gund, a police spokesperson said in a statement.
Acting on specific information, a police team from Police Station Gund after strenuous efforts arrested the said absconder, and after completing all legal formalities, the accused was produced before the Court JMIC Kangan, wherefrom he has been sent to Subsidiary Jail Dignibal.
Police expressed committment to bringing all absconders and offenders to justice and ensuring that no one evades the law.
