GBHSS Gund Ganderbal celebrates Environment Day with student rally

GANDERBAL: Government Boys Higher Secondary School Gund on Tuesday celebrated Environment Day by organizing a rally in which numerous students participated. The rally aimed to sensitize participants about the importance of the environment. During the rally, students raised awareness about environmental issues by passing through the main Market Gund and raising slogans such as “Save the Earth” and “Save Water, Save Life,” advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
The rally was flagged off by the Head of the Institution, Riyaz Ahmad Lone. Other notable attendees included Shah Nawaz Ahmad Sheikh, an environmental science teacher, Ab Hamid Bhat, and Firdous Ahmad, who graced the occasion with their presence.
While addressing the gathering, Shah Nawaz Ahmad Sheikh appreciated all the students who participated in the rally and shared valuable information regarding the importance of saving water and the environment. He urged all participants to adopt sustainable practices and play a conservative role in protecting the environment and water resources.
Ab Hamid Bhat explained the importance of environmental conservation to the students. He stated that the rally served as a powerful reminder of the significance of environmental stewardship and encouraged individuals to take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness and ecological balance of water bodies, especially during the festive season.
