IPL 2024 fastest balls: Mayank Yadav tops chart with 155.8 kph delivery on debut

NEW DELHI: Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav topped the charts of the fastest deliveries of the IPL 2024 season with a 155.8 kph thunderbolt on his debut against Punjab Kings. Mayank has currently bowled the three fastest balls of the IPL season.
Mayank stands second on the all-time list of quickest Indian pacers in the IPL, only behind Umran Malik who touched 157kph for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Mayank’s whirlwind pace and lengths troubled Punjab and helped Lucknow earn their first win of the season by 21 runs. Rajasthan Royals seamer Nandre Burger, who also made his IPL debut earlier in the season, stands second on the list with a 153 kph delivery against Delhi Capitals.
The IPL has witnessed some of the fastest international bowlers line up for franchises across 17 editions. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, Tait bowled a 157.7 delivery to Delhi Daredevils batter Aaron Finch in 2011.
