Republic Day 2024 celebrated across Awantipora, Pampore

PAMPORE: The 75th Republic Day was observed with great fervor in Awantipora and Pampore Tehsil, with the tricolor unfurled at key locations, including District Police Lines Awantipora, Tehsil office Pampore, Police Station Pampore, Court Complex Pampore, Municipal Committee Pampore, Municipal Committee Khrew, Police Station Awantipora, IUST Awantipora, Panchayat ghars, hospitals, education institutions, and other government offices in the district.
The main ceremony at District Police Lines Awantipora saw Additional Deputy Commissioner Zaffar Husson Shawl as the chief guest, unfurling the National Flag and inspecting the Parade. SSP Awantipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Various dignitaries, including SDPO Awantipora, Dy.SP DAR Awantipora, Tehsildar Awantipora, and other senior officers from civil administration and the Police Department were present, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Under the command of Dy.SP Gagandeep Singh, contingents from CRPF, IRP, District Police, Women Police, Home Guards, and several schools participated in the parade. Colorful cultural programs by students added vibrancy to the celebration, witnessed by a large gathering.
Besides, SDPO Awantipora, Dy.SP DAR Awantipora, Tehsildar Awantipora Shakeel Ahmad, and other senior officers of civil administration and the Police Department were present on the occasion. The parade was commanded by Dy.SP Gagandeep Singh. The Contingents of CRPF, IRP, District Police, Women Police, Home Guards, and many schools participated in the parade and had a march past. Besides, colorful cultural programs were also presented by students from different education institutions on the occasion. A large number of people witnessed the function.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl extended his warmest greetings to all participants and highlighted various developmental works of the district. “We pay tribute to the sacrifices of those brave souls who laid down their lives. Today, as we remember all these heroes, we extend our heartfelt respect to them,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to all civil, police, and other employees of the district who recently contributed to the success of the Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra program. The objective of the program was to reach out to those individuals who, for various reasons, had not yet availed themselves of government schemes. He said that around 15 thousand beneficiaries have been enrolled in different schemes through the Vikshit Bharat program. Prior to this initiative, the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” program was also celebrated not only nationwide but also in Pulwama district.
In Pampore, Tehsildar Zuber Ahmad Bhat led the patriotic fervor by hoisting the national flag at both the Tehsil office and Municipal Committee Pampore. The ceremony had the esteemed presence of SDPO Pampore Krishan Rattan, SHO Pampore Rashid Khan, and various officials. The event was attended by Tehsil officials, Girdawar, Patwaris, Numberdar’s, Chowkidars, Municipal Committee Pampore members, along with representatives from Fire and Emergency services, CRPF personnel, and employees from various departments.
Certificates were distributed by Tehsildar Pampore among Patwaris, revenue functionaries, and Municipal Committee Pampore employees.
The Republic Day spirit also resonated in the Sub Division Police Office Pampore, where SDPO Krishan Rattan unfurled the national flag in the presence of SHO Pampore Rashid Khan and personnel from Police, CRPF, and Fire and Emergency Services. SDPO Pampore conveyed Republic Day greetings to the security force jawans, and sweets were distributed among CRPF, Police, and Fire and Emergency Services personnel, marking the conclusion of the celebrations.
The Republic Day function also held Munciff Court Complex Pampore, where the national flag unfurled by Touseef Ahmad Magray Civil Judge/Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate Pampore in the presence of Tehsildar Pampore Zuber Ahmad Bhat, SDPO Krishan Rathan, SHO Raashid Khan, CRPF jawans, and Members of Bar Association Pampore. During the ceremony, President Advocate Arshid Ahmad Dar and Secretary of Bar Association Pampore Advocate Mehraj Ud Din Bhat, Staff of JMIC Pampore, PLV of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore and other Police officials were present in the ceremony. During the Ceremony Hon’ble Touseef Ahmad Magray Civil Judge/Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate Pampore has highlighted the achievements of the nation in his speech who also said that the 75th year of the Republic is truly a historic milestone in the journey of the nation in many ways. This is an especially festive occasion, just as we celebrated the unique greatness and diverse culture of our nation during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav when we completed 75 years of Independence.
