10-year-old boy from Pampore clinches gold at National Sqay Championship

Pampore: In a triumph for Saffron Town Pampore, 10-year-old Mohammad Huzaifa Bin Hilal, a student of Birla Open Minds School Pampore in Class 3rd, secured a gold medal in the 24th National Sqay Championship 2023-24 held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The championship, organized by the Rajasthan Sqay Association, took place from January 1 to January 4.
Huzaifa’s father, Hilal Ahmad, expressed immense joy, emphasizing the significance of his son’s achievement not only for their hometown but also for the reputation of Kashmir.
Highlighting Huzaifa’s stellar journey, it was revealed that before this national triumph, he had already clinched two gold medals at both district and state levels.
In acknowledging the crucial role of academics and sports, Hilal Ahmad affirmed his unwavering support for Huzaifa’s dual pursuits, recognizing the importance of sports activities in holistic development.
The proud father extended gratitude to all the teachers at Birla Open Minds School, particularly mentioning Wasim Sir, the Physical Education Teacher, for their exceptional efforts that contributed to Mohammad Huzaifa’s success as the National Champion in Sqay Martial Art.
