Massive traffic drive led by SSP targets violations in Narbal-Baramulla road

Pampore: Traffic Police continued its traffic drive against Traffic violations in Narbal Baramulla road, booking a number of violators on Wednesday. In a significant operation spearheaded by SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh, along with DTI Baramulla, SO Narbal, and SO Pattan, a massive traffic drive unfolded in the Narbal area of Baramulla road.
The enforcement action targeted various traffic violations, including overloading, overspeeding, lack of helmets, absence of seat belts, and non-possession of valid documents, Traffic Police officials told Kashmir Reader.
During the operation, a considerable number of violators were booked for their infractions. In an effort to promote awareness and adherence to traffic rules, on-the-spot counseling was provided to drivers and commuters, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir told Kashmir Reader.
SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir emphasized the mission to minimize road accidents and fatalities, declaring zero tolerance for all forms of overloading, be it goods or passengers. Parents were specifically advised not to permit their teenagers to operate two-wheelers or four-wheelers without a valid driver’s license. In the event of non-compliance, parents would be held liable for penalties under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act. The overarching goal of the initiative is to enhance road safety and instill a culture of responsible driving.
SSP Singh informed Kashmir Reader that Traffic Police under a special drive have cracked down on traffic violators to send a strong message against the violation of traffic rules, triple pillion riding, driving without a helmet, and underage driving to ensure smooth and safe driving on roads to save precious lives.
During the last few days, Traffic Police booked a number of vehicles, seized dozens of vehicles, and issued Challans against the violators of traffic rules. SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir again appealed to all citizens to follow traffic rules, especially parents were requested to put a check on teenagers and not allow them to drive illegally. It also warned that those found violating the traffic rules in the district will be strictly dealt with under the law.
He said that such drives will continue in the future also, to keep a check on Traffic violators, especially Two-Wheeler riders and overloading. The general public is requested to kindly cooperate with Traffic Police to bring a visible change in Traffic management in the Kashmir valley, he said.
