NIT Srinagar’s NCC Cadets felicitated by Bihar Governor

SRINAGAR: Two NCC cadets from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar were felicitated by the Governor of Bihar, Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd.) during a special interaction, where they had the opportunity to engage in an inspiring discussion on leadership, nation-building and personal development.
The cadets, Sakshi Sharma (2025BCIV053, Regimental No. JK2025SWIA2081430) and Surbhi Kumari (2025BELE098, Regimental No. JK2025SWIA2081626), are members of the 9 J&K Girls Battalion, NCC, Srinagar, representing the NIT Srinagar NCC Unit.
During the interaction, the Governor shared insights from his four decades of service in Kashmir, reflecting on his journey, the path to success, the importance of continuous self-improvement and the role of youth in nation-building. He encouraged the cadets to remain disciplined, dedicated and committed to serving the nation with integrity.
The Governor commended the cadets for earning admission to NIT Srinagar, describing it as a significant milestone and encouraging them to strive for even greater achievements in service of the nation.
The two cadets were felicitated by the Governor in recognition of their dedication and exemplary participation as NCC cadets.
Congratulating the cadets, Director, NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Binod Kumar Kanaujia, said the achievement is a matter of immense pride for the institute. He said such opportunities expose students to inspiring personalities and strengthen the values of leadership, discipline and national service.
Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Atikur Rehman, also congratulated the cadets and said their interaction with the Governor would inspire them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
He noted that the Institute remains committed to promoting holistic development by encouraging students to actively participate in NCC and other co-curricular activities that foster discipline, confidence and a spirit of service.
Associate NCC Officer (ANO), Lt. Dr. Nitika Kundan, congratulated Sakshi Sharma and Surbhi Kumari for bringing laurels to NIT Srinagar.
She said the interaction with the Governor was a memorable and enriching experience that would motivate them to serve society with dedication and uphold the ideals of the National Cadet Corps.
Dr. Nitika expressed confidence that the cadets would continue to excel in future NCC activities and inspire their fellow students.
