SKUAST-K hosts educational expedition for Govt Middle School students

Pampore: The Directorate of Extension at SKUAST-Kashmir organized a one-day exposure visit for students of Government Middle School Ahlan, Kokernag, on Thursday. The event was inaugurated by Director Extension SKAUST-Kashmir Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi.
Notable participants included scientists from the Directorate of Extension, Programme Coordinators from various KVKs such as Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam, and Bandipora, alongside Prof. Javaid Ahmad Mugloo, Dr. Ishtiyaq Khan Mugloo, Dr. Ishtiyaq Abidi, Dr. Tariq Sultan, and Dr. Manzoor Ahmed Ganaie. Teachers and students from the school actively participated in the program, enriching the educational experience.
On the occasion, Prof. Makhdoomi said that by organizing such exposure visits for students will impart and improve knowledge and skills for better innovation in young minds towards achieving successful entrepreneurship. He said that entrepreneurial vision is defined by discovery and risk-taking and is an indispensable part of a nation’s capacity to succeed in an ever-changing and more competitive global marketplace.
“Entrepreneurship is the ability and readiness to develop, organize and run a business enterprise, along with any of its uncertainties to make a profit. The most prominent example of entrepreneurship is the starting of a new business,” Prof. Makhdoomi said.
The appraisal was taken by calling a few young students on the dais, and all the house appreciated the same, KVK Malangpora head Javaid Ahmad Mugloo told Kashmir Reader.
Later, Students were taken for exposure visit to all demonstration units of SKUAST-Kashmir, Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC) and some laboratories.
The teachers of the school thanked Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, and Director Extension Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi for facilitating the exposure visit as envisaged in NEP-2020.
