Pampore student presents his innovative solar grass-cutter model to VC SKUAST-K

Vice Chancellor assures support, offers access to university’s facilities

Pampore: Aamir Mushtaq, a talented 9th-grade student from Government Boys Higher Secondary School Khrew Pampore, showcased his groundbreaking solar grass cutter machine to the Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Kashmir, Prof Dr Nazir Ahmad Ganaie.
A resident of Khrew Pampore, Aamir Mushtaq’s innovation has the potential to revolutionize agricultural practices, particularly in terms of cost-effectiveness. The solar-powered grass-cutting device was presented to seek support and further development from the Vice Chancellor.
Impressed by the ingenuity displayed, Prof Dr Nazir Ahmad Ganaie expressed keen interest in scaling up production for commercial use, providing a cost-efficient alternative for farmers engaged in agricultural activities. The Solar Grass Cutter Machine not only boasts environmental sustainability but also promises to alleviate the financial burden on farmers, aligning with the broader goal of promoting innovation in agriculture.
Discussions are underway for collaboration between the educational institution and relevant stakeholders to bring Aamir Mushtaq’s vision to fruition. The potential integration of this innovative solution into mainstream agricultural practices reflects the power of grassroots talent in contributing meaningfully to societal progress.
Amir Mushtaq, appreciative of the Vice Chancellor’s support, shared his future plans. He mentioned meeting Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmad Ganaie after exams to discuss potential modifications and advancements. The Vice-Chancellor offered access to SKUAST-Kashmir’s workshop for any necessary enhancements and assured full support, covering associated expenses.
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, Amir said he met the Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K who appreciated him for the innovation of the solar grass cutter machine. “VC Sahab expressed great satisfaction when I presented a demonstration of my solar grass cutter machine to him at SKUAST-Kashmir Shalimar.”
The VC, as per Amir, told him: “If you wish to modify it for marketing with iron, you can use our workshop at SKUAST-Kashmir Shalimar. You will have access to all the facilities there if you’re interested. If you choose not to, SKUAST-Kashmir will provide full support for the modifications, and the expenses will be covered by the university.”
Amir said that currently he is busy with exams, and after that, he plans to meet the VC again.
