SKUAST-K holds training, feed distribution event for dairy farmers

Srinagar: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir held a daylong training-cum-distribution program under NABARD-sponsored research project ‘Enhancing livelihood of dairy farmers in Srinagar through productivity augmentation by standardization and popularization of multi-nutrient block supplements for animal feeding’ at the Faculty Outreach Centre, Shuhama campus.
The training was organised by the Division of Animal Nutrition, FVSc&AH with the aim to create awareness among dairy farmers of district Srinagar about the animal feed supplement in the form of Multi-nutrient blocks. Multi-nutrient blocks prepared by the Animal Nutrition Division under the said project were also distributed on the occasion free of cost among the dairy farmers.
As chief guest, Dean, FVSc&AH Prof MT Banday emphasised the importance of supplements in animal feeding. Head of the Division, Prof Abdul Majeed Ganai highlighted the activities of the Division. DDM-Srinagar, NABARD Dr Asif Ahmad Bhat stressed upon the participants to avail the maximum benefit from the scheme. Dr Yasir Afzal Beigh, Principal Investigator of the project highlighted the overview of the research project funded by NABARD. Around 40 dairy farmers from block Batapora of district Srinagar were present in the program.
