Srinagar: Krishi Vikas Kendra Anantnag, SKUAST-Kashmir, today organised an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) on ‘Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Canopy Management in Apple with Special Reference to Modern High-Density Orchards’ at Government Degree College, Kokernag.
The program was sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small Medium Enterprises (MSME), GOI, New Delhi. The event commenced with Dr Fayaz Ahmad Bhat. Program Officer, NSS Unit, GDC Kokernag, extending a warm welcome to the guest speakers and participants. Dr M Suliman Dar, Head, Department of Botany, GDC-Kokernag deliberated upon the importance of inculcating entrepreneurship culture among the students from a very young age for earning their livelihood and thanked KVK for choosing GDC-Kokernag as the venue for such an important and emerging aspect. Dr Ishtiyaq A Khan, Training Coordinator & Head, KVK-Anantnag underscored the significance of conducting such programs in the institutions with an emphasis on the importance of instilling an entrepreneurial spirit. He delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation highlighting entrepreneurship opportunities in the horticultural sector, showcasing successful entrepreneurs nurtured by Kendra, and expressing gratitude to MSME for the support. The event was also attended by Officers/officials of line departments who provided insights into various schemes aimed at assisting aspiring entrepreneurs for developing their businesses.
