Pulwama: The Chief Education Officer of Pulwama, Abdul Nadvi Nadvi, hosted a District Level Sports event for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Pulwama on Saturday.
The event aimed to celebrate inclusivity and the values of sportsmanship among students, particularly those with special needs under an Inclusive Education.
The event witnessed several competitions, including the Carom, Tug of War, Foot Race, and Badminton, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The Children with Special Needs (CWSN) participants from all zones of the district Pulwama demonstrated their exceptional skills, talents and sportsmanship throughout the day and were thoughtfully curated to cater to a wide range of abilities, ensuring that all participants had the chance to shine.
Chief Education Officer Pulwama Abdul Qayoom Nadvi addressed the enthusiastic participants and underlined the significance of sports in the lives of children with special needs. He emphasized that sports not only promote physical well-being but also play a crucial role in developing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship qualities.
Abdul Qayoom Nadvi encouraged all the students to actively participate and excel in sports, regardless of their abilities.
He stressed that these events not only provided a platform for CWSN students to display their athletic prowess but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among participants, teachers, and parents, CEO official Tariq Abdullah told Kashmir Reader.
These events served as a reminder of the potential that lies within every student, reinforcing the importance of sports and physical activity in their overall development.
S M Iqbal, Principal BHSS Pulwama also graced the event with his presence as a guest of honour.
District Coordinator Javid Ahmad along with his team of Resource Persons, Special Educators along with Escort Teachers played a pivotal role in making this event a grand success, leading from the front with unwavering determination and support.
