PDP gears up for ULB, Panchayat elections with workers’ convention in Pampore

Former minister Mir Zahoor stresses ‘meticulous planning, groundwork’

Pampore: In a bid to rally support and prepare for the forthcoming Panchayat and ULB elections in Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) organized a workers convention at Townhall Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
Senior PDP leader and former minister Mir Zahoor Ahmad presided over the gathering. With the picturesque backdrop of Pampore, about 200 enthusiastic PDP workers of the Pampore Constituency thronged to Townhall to participate in this event.
The convention was marked by the presence of prominent party figures, including DDC Chairperson Pulwama Syed Bari Andrabi, PDP District President Chadoora Mohammad Yaseen, DDC member Tazeema Akhtar, DDC member Ratnipora Abdul Qayoom Mir who lent their support to the cause.
Addressing the assembled party workers, Mir Zahoor delivered an impassioned speech, exhorting them to gear up for the upcoming electoral battles in the Union Territory. He emphasized the importance of grassroots democracy and the pivotal role that PDP can play in shaping the region’s future through effective local governance.
He said, “These elections are a significant opportunity for us to represent the aspirations of the people. The PDP has always stood for the welfare and development of Jammu and Kashmir, and our dedicated workers will be the driving force behind our success.”
Talking to Kashmir Reader, Mir said, “Today we held a meeting with our party workers and it was conveyed to them to make preparations for upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections. Deliberations were held on selecting the right candidates from different wards and constituencies.”
Mir said he represented Pampore Constituency as MLA for about 16 years during which Pampore, Khrew and other villages saw huge development.
Addressing a captive audience of party loyalists and supporters, Zahoor emphasized the significance of meticulous planning and groundwork. He conveyed the critical message that the success of these elections depends heavily on the selection of the right candidates who can effectively represent the diverse interests and aspirations of different wards and constituencies.
