Sports Week Celebrations: YSS organises Para Sports, Hockey, Cricket, recreational activities in Srinagar

Srinagar: Continuing its week long sports activities being organised in connection with the forthcoming National Sports Day, the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K engaged thousands of Youth particularly students of different educational institutions of Kashmir division in different sports activities of group play. All the sports Zones of Srinagar District organised sports activities in different games to encourage mass participation of both boys and girls in the games of their choice.
In sports zone Amirakadal, para sports activities, matches of Hockey and recreational activities like Hide and seek etc were organised by the concerned Zonal Physical Education Officer. More than 200 student players participated in the activities of recreation and competitive sports. An interesting Hokey match was also conducted at Polo Ground Hockey turf while as para sports and hide and seek activities were organised at Bemina and MS Kothibagh respectively. Joint Director Kashmir of the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K Waseem Raja presided over a well attended function at Polo Ground Srinagar. He was accompanied by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Srinagar Ghulam e Hassan Lone in presence of ZEPOS and other officials of the Department.
Meanwhile sports zone Rainawari organised Basketball/Tug of war and a fun game Lagori and Langdi in which 50 students participated. The event was conducted at GHSS Nowhatta. Likewise Sports Zone Gulabbagh o if rganised a circket turnament for boys under 14 at Farm Ground Danger Pora in which 104 participants participated.
