JKEEU employees warn of protest if ‘genuine demands’ not redressed

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Employees Union (JKEEU) has expressed strong resentment against the government for not resolving the problems of the union.
In a statement issued here, the union said, “It has come to the notice of JKEEU from reliable sources that the comrades communicated displeasure against the attitude of higher-ups. It is very unfortunate that the representatives of JKEEU have for the last decades made written representations conducting meetings with SEs, CEs, MDs, Secretaries, Principal Secretary, and Chief Secretary from time to time.”
It is very shocking to note that almost none of the employees’ issues over problems have been considered solved by authorities concerned so far, the JKEEU said, adding, “The step-motherly treatment like delay in salary, in-situ promotions, leave salary, withdrawal of GP Fund and other vital issues has forced the poor employees to conduct protest strike to press the authorities to get our problems sorted out and redressed.”
There will be no option left for JKEEU but to go on a protest programme strike on August 21, 2023, if the concerned authorities do not take things seriously and redress the grievances of employees of PDD/PDC, the union said.
