Basketball match held at BOMIS Pampore

DPS beats BOMIS in the inaugural match

Pampore: With an aim to promote sports among students, Birla Open Minds International School Pampore on Saturday organised a Basketball match on the school premises between BOMIS Pampore and Delhi Public School Athwajan Srinagar.
The match was organised in view of the upcoming first annual BML Welfare Trust Silver Rolling Inter-School Basketball Trophy 2023 scheduled to be held in the school from 9th August.
Showkat Ahmad Lone, Chairman J&K Blind Welfare Trust graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Raja Muzaffar, social activities Cricket and Representative J&K Blind Welfare Trust was the guest of honour, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The inaugural match was played between students of BOMIS Pampore and students of DPS, Athwajan Srinagar.
DPS, Srinagar emerged winners in the exhilarating match played between the two teams on the campus.
On the occasion, Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat, Showkat Ahmad Lone and other guests interacted with the players and appreciated them for taking part in sports activities. The guests hailed the BOMIS Pampore for providing opportunities for the student to spend their energies on productive work.
A.A Mir, Chairman BML Welfare Trust and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Lone, Trustee BML Welfare Trust welcomed the guests and the visiting team to the campus and said that BOMIS, Pampore will always be at the forefront of working for the welfare of the children and in providing all-round development to the children.
Speaking on the occassion, the Chief guest, Showkat Ahmad Lone appreciated the efforts of BOMIS, Pampore in providing holistic education to the children and initiating the invitational tournament with other schools of the valley.
Social activist Dr Raja Muzaffar appreciated the BOMIS Pampore for organising the basketball match on the school campus.
The chief guest and guest of honour awarded the winner and runner-up teams with trophies and appreciated the efforts of BOMIS Pampore in conducting a Basketball tournament on the school Campus.
They laid stress on involving more youths in sports to keep them away from drugs. The participating teams also appreciated the efforts of BOMIS Pampore.
