Pampore: Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme for Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Photo Electoral Rolls organized by District SVEEP Team Pulwama was held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Samboora area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The education department also organised a Noise Pollution and Curroption Programme in collaboration with the government higher secondary school Samboora.
Chief Education Officer Pulwama Abdul Qayoom Nadvi was the chief guest on the occasion, while Principal GHSS Samboora Shaista Bano guest of honour. Coordinator SVEEP Pulwama Tariq Abdullah, teachers, staff members and a number of students also participated in the event.
During the day-long programme, Chief Education Officer Pulwama handed over an appreciation letter to Principal GHSS Samboora and teachers for showing good performance in recent board examination results.
The CEO Pulwama, who is also the Chief Nodal Officer SVEEP, highlighted the importance of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).
He stressed on awareness and said that students should learn how to cast their vote for the right candidate. He said a voter is responsible for his/her vote as one vote can decide the future of the country or any region so a voter must cast his/her vote to the right person. He also highlighted the educational value and importance of SVEEP and other Electoral processes.
“Today’s programme was held with regard to Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP),” Nadvi said, adding that they also deliberated on noise pollution and corruption.
He said that experts on the subjects threw light on the topics, adding that they made the programme attractive by awarding them.
Apart from SVEEP, the experts talked about noise pollution and corruption and their ill effects on society. “Samboora Higher Secondary School and other schools which showed good performance in the board examination results were given appreciation letters,” he said.
