Hajjn: After years of delay, the R&B Department finally started macadamization of the Hajin-Sopore road on Tuesday.
The busy road is considered to be the lifeline of Hajin and its adjoining areas as it connects several villages like Hajin, Vijpara, Shahgund, Gundjahingir, Madwan, etc with fruit Mandi Sopore. It had been in the worst condition, causing immense hardships to the transporters and daily commuters, especially fruit growers.
After a huge outcry over the pathetic condition of the road, the administration swung into action. The macadamization work was inaugurated by Chairman MC Hajin Irshad Ahmad Wani along with the officials of the R&B Department.
Meanwhile, the locals thanked the Lieutenant Governor-led administration for responding to the public grievances and demands.
Chairman Municipal Committee also thanked LG Manoj Sinha and DC Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad for fulfilling the long-pending demand of the people. The locals, traders federation, Gousia Sumo Stand Hajin and fruit growers also expressed gratitude to the administration.
Repairing this vital road is a big relief for us, especially fruit growers, the locals said.
