Man seriously injured in bear attack in Tral

Tral: A 70-year-old man was seriously injured in a bear attack in the Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
According to locals, he was attacked by a black bear at the Gujjar Basti Narastan area of Tral.
The family of Mohammad Abdullah Gujjar, 70, son of Fata Gujjar, a resident of Gujar Basti Narastan, told Kashmir Reader said that he was grazing the cattle near his home when a bear attacked him.
The bear initially attacked cattle, and when he tried to save them from the wild animal, he too was attacked and sustained serious face injuries.
He was rescued by the family members and rushed to Sub District Hospital Tral. Later, he was referred to a Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.
Range Officer Wildlife, Khursheed Ahmad said they received information about the attack.
The person is in Srinagar hospital where his condition is said to be stable, he said.
