Thousands throng Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah Tral to attend Urs of Hazrat Shah-e-Hamadan (RA)

TRAL: The annual Urs of Hazrat Ameer Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA), popularly known as Shah-e-Hamadan, was observed on Sunday at Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, with religious fervor and enthusiasm.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader that thousands of devotees including elders, women, and children thronged the shrine to participate in the congregational prayers. The relics of Ameer e Kabeer (RA) were shown to the devotees.
The largest gathering was witnessed during Zuhr prayers on Sunday when the majority of people gathered to offer congregational prayers. He said that people from dozens of villages of Sub division Tral and other parts of the valley especially south Kashmir offered prayers on Sunday.
The relics of Hazrat Ameer Kabeer (RA) were displayed after every prayer during the day and thousands of devotees were seen waiting eagerly after prayers to have a glimpse of the holy relic.
Mohammad Yaseen Shah, Chairman Idara Auqaf Islamia Hamdaniya Khankah-e-Faiz Panah Tral told Kashmir Reader that the annual Urs of Hazrat Ameer Kabeer (RA) Shah-e-Hamadan is being observed on 6th Zil-Hijjah of Islamic calendar at Khankah-e-Faiz Panah Tral. He said that religious preachers delivered their lectures on Sunday and highlighted the teachings of Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA).
A nightlong Shab Khawani, Darood Azqar, Khatmat-ul-Mozamaat and Naat Khawani were also held during night-long prayers in connection with the Urs of Hazrat Ameer Kabeer (RA).
Islamic scholars shed light on the life and achievements of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamadani (RA). They expressed hope that the teachings of Shah-e-Hamadan (RA) shall remain alive at all times to come.
He said that Shah e Hamadan, Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, spread the teachings of Islam and the word of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) throughout the length and breadth of Kashmir.
Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani (1314–1384) was a Persian Sufi of the Kubrawiya order, a poet, and a prominent Shafii Muslim scholar. He was born in Hamadan and was buried in Khatlan Tajikistan. He played a major role in spreading Islam in Kashmir and he has also influenced the culture of the Kashmir valley. He was known as Shah-e-Hamadan (“King of Hamadan”), Amir-i Kabir (“the Great Commander), and Ali Sani (Second Ali). He also introduced the skills of famed handicrafts among the people for which Kashmir is famous all over the world.
