PAMPORE: A coaching camp for Badminton is underway at Government Degree College Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The camp is being organised by Badminton Association Pulwama affiliated with J&K UT Badminton Association.
The President of the Badminton Association Pulwama Mir Murawat Hussain on Sunday visited Government Degree College Pampore where he appreciated the players and distributed certificates among the participant players. Vice President Badminton Association of J&K, Irfan Shah Ahsani and members were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Mir urged the youth to participate in sports activities. He announced that he will sponsor those players who will qualify for the national level.
Badminton Association General Secretary Pulwama and Vice President Badminton Association J&K told Kashmir Reader that they organised a camp at GDC Pampore for Badminton. “Selections for the district level and state level teams will be made during the camp,” he said, adding that this year, the state-level championship will be held in Srinagar.
He also appealed to the badminton players to participate and join the coaching at GDC Pampore from 7 am to 10 am every day.
