110 Bn CRPF organised mega plantation drive to observe World Environment day at Pampore

PAMPORE: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along with Social Forestry Department conducted a mega plantation drive to observe World Environment Day at the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
110 Battalion CRPF Lethpora organized the drive at its headquarters, company locations and Galender area of Pampore. The plantation drive was inaugurated by Yogesh Purohit, Commandant 110 Bn, in the presence of Dy Commandant Suresh, Shishpal and Assistant Commandant Sandeep, Deepak, Avinash, Amzad and other officers by taking a Pledge and by planting a Deodar plant.
Nearly 1000 saplings of coniferous plants were planted in the outpost locations and Galender area, alongside NH 44 and along the banks of River Jhelum in the Galender area apart from the campus of 110 Bn CRPF Lethpora. A large number of Social Forestry personnel along with Forest Officer Javaid Ahmad also participated in the plantation drive with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Talking to the media persons, Yogesh Purohit said that it is the aim of CRPF to make the surroundings clean, green and healthy where ever it is deployed by organizing such plantation drives from time to time. He also narrated the benefits of plantation and appealed to all to plant maximum trees for creating a green, clean and healthy environment and making a happier future.
