People thank MC chairman, administration

Hajin: The two-decade-long wait of the Hajin people came to an end on Saturday when Municipal Council chairman Irshad Ahmad Wani kick-started macadamization work in the town.
On the occasion, the residents expressed gratitude towards the R&B department, district administration, LG administration, MC chairman, and Imtiyaz Parray for fulfilling their long-pending demand.
“A new chapter of development will begin with the macadamization of roads in the town,” said a local. “It is like Eid for us.”
The macadamization work started in the Hajjn town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district after two decades.
The MC chairman, who was accompanied by senior officers of the Public Works Department of Sumbal, said that earlier the road was not macadamized and commuters had to face a lot of hardships, especially during the rainy reason.
He assured the people that all their genuine issues would be taken into consideration in a time-bound manner and that regular feedback would be taken from concerned departments regarding the redressal of genuine issues pertaining to their departments.
The demands which could not be redressed at the district level would be forwarded to the higher authorities for redressal, he said
“This is just the beginning. This town will see a lot of development in the future,” Irshad said, adding, “For the last two decades, this area was neglected in terms of development by the successive governments for their pretty gains.”
