Awantipora: The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a special interview of Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor, IUST under its Community Radio Programme Peshkadam.
The interview was conducted by the students namely Kaleem Geelani-3rd semester and Shireen Naman-1st semester, under the supervision of Head Of the Department, Dr. Mujeeb Liyakat, Incharge Peshkadam, Dr Heeba Din and technical team led by Mr Zahoor Gilkar.
The interview covered various issues ranging from the importance of India’s G20 presidency, Climate change, Outcomes of COP 27, sustainable development Goals besides other issues.
Vice chancellor complimented the department for taking steps towards imparting practical training to the students and appreciated the Young aspiring journalists for their hard work. He said that the media is called the fourth estate and has a great and responsible role in a progressive society.
On this occasion, he was also presented a book authored by Shireen Naman and titled ‘Reminiscence of the Past – Souvenirs and Antiques of the valley’. He applauded the young writer and encouraged her to pursue her passion of writing.
The interview will be relayed on the official YouTube channel of Radio Peshkadam, University newspaper -‘The Echo’ and Community initiative newspaper ‘Naad’ of the university.
