15,000 students to play this year: ZPEO Pampore

PAMPORE, March 12: Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Pampore held a joint meeting at Valley Model School Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district to discuss the calendar of sports activities for this year.

The meeting was attended by all field staff of Zone Pampore under the Supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Pampore Masrat Hussain Andrabi.

During the meeting, all the staff members were briefed to gear up to involve around 15,000 students in various sports and games activities. Physical Teachers from the Pampore zone were directed to give their best to achieve the set target.

“Today’s meeting was organised to keep our teachers of the zone ready for this year’s calendar of activities issued by our directorate,” ZPEO Pampore, Masrat Hussain Andrabi told Kashmir Reader, adding that this year they have a target of playing 15,000 boys and girls in different sports activities.

“We will organise events one by one in the zone and will try to involve the maximum number of students,” he said, adding that youth from 19 to 35 years of age can take part in the activities like LG cricket trophy.

He said that they are hopeful to have an LG trophy for football as well. All teachers of the zone have been kept ready in advance in view of the calendar which will be issued by the directorate in advance, he said.
