KVK Malangpora kick-starts orientation, training for implementation of HDAP

PAMPORE: A district-level orientation programme and training programme for implementation of Holistic Agriculture development plan kick started at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Malangpora. The programme was organised by KVK Malangpora under the Aegis of Agriculture production department Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

The district-level orientation cum training programme under Holistic Development of Agriculture started for district Pulwama and was inaugurated by Director Extension SKUAST-K, Prof. Dil Mohammad Maqdoomi who is also the nodal Officer of the project.

He gave a detailed background and genesis of the HADP Project. He highlighted the role of diary as a profiting enterprise. He said that processing and packaging of milk and milk products offer wide range of employability.

The aim of district-level orientation and training programmes is to create awareness and build confidence in collaboration with all line departments for organizing, facilitating and taking all stakeholders on board for implementation of the prestigious Apex Committee entitled ‘Implementation Framework for Holistic Development of Agricultural Sector in J&K, KVK Malangpora, officials told Kashmir Reader.

Prof and Head, KVK/ETC Malangpora Dr. Javaid Ahmad Mugloo, while speaking on the occasion stressed upon the trainees to work with zeal and dedication for successful implementation of the project.

Other dignitaries present who were present include Chief Animal husbandry Officer, Chief Agriculture officer, District Agriculture officer (Marketing) and other district officers of different line departments.

More than 150 participants participated in the programme, which include Block Veterinary officers, Veterinary Surgeons and other officials from Department of Animal Husbandry.

A detailed presentation on the implementation framework of Dairy development project was presented by Dr Ajaz Ahmad Ganie, Scientist Animal Science (resource person of the projects). It was followed by a healthy discussion and question and answer session.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohammad Munaaf Bhat, District Agriculture Officer Pulwama.

Taking to Kashmir Reader, Director Extension SKUAST-K Dil Mohammad Maqdoomi said, “Recently, a high-level committee approved 29 projects under holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors. The trainings for these projects were started at the UT level, then divisional and today the training cum orientation programme was rolled across 10 district of valley.”

He said that they held a training programme in the auditorium of KVK Pulwama where more 400 participants were present. The programme was on the theme of holistic diary development where it was briefed how diary can be taken to new heights in Jammu and Kashmir.
