Kulgam: The District Development council Chairperson Kulgam Mohd Afzal Parray on Tuesday visited Kund area of district Kulgam to take stock of the arrangements for the ongoing annual Urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Syed Noor Shah Saheb Wali Baghdadi (RA).

DDC Member Kund Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad along with Tehsildar Devsar, Naib Tehsildar Kund, SHO Kund, AEE R&B Qazigund, and other officers from PDD, Revenue, PHE, R&B, FCSCA, Health, and Municipality accompanied the DDC Chairperson during the visit. The week-long Urs of the saint commenced on February 1 and will continue till February 10.

On the occasion, the DDC Chairperson Kulgam stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure the availability of all the necessary arrangements so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience.

He interacted with the Auqaf Committee members and enquired about the arrangements put in place by the administration for the smooth conduct of Urs. The Auqaf members expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

The DDC chairperson directed the officers to ensure uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water supply, proper sanitation measures, illumination and decoration of the shrine besides healthcare facilities and security arrangements at the shrine.
