Held Interaction with Progressive Saffron Growers and Staff of IIKSTC
Srinagar: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today convened a meeting to review the functioning of India International Kashmir Saffron Trade Centre (IIKSTC) at Dusso Pampore.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture Extension Mohammad Syeed Peer, Administrator IIKSTC Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah, Technical experts of IIKSTC and progressive saffron growers.
Addressing the meeting Director Agriculture said that GI tagging of Kashmir saffron has opened new windows for markets of our produce at national as well as international level. He impressed upon the stake holders including saffron farmers, technical experts and other concerned to work with greater coordination for the strengthening of saffron sector.
He asked the concerned officers to take feedback from the common saffron farmers regarding various interventions and latest technologies provided to them by the department.
Earlier administrator IIKSTC and different saffron growers express their views in the meeting. Various issues were discussed in detail by the stake holders.
Later on, Director Agriculture visited different sections of IIKSTC were he was briefed by the concerned officers regarding various activities being carried out by the centre.
