Govt. Degree College, Banihal observes day

Srinagar: Red Ribbon Club/Debates and Seminar Committee of Govt. Degree College Banihal in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Aids Control Society (JKACS), Department of Health & Medical Education & Higher Education (UT J&K) celebrated World Aids Day in the conference room of the college, where a good number of students and faculty members were present. At the outset the keynote speaker Dr. Mohd Rafiq Kumar (Department of Zoology) explained in detail the causes of spreading this deadly virus and asserted upon the student community to put an end of this pandemic, by remaining extra vigilant while using transfusion of blood, Shaving blades, needles etc. .He further added that the day does not only raise awareness about, but to pay solidarity/equal treatment to those who were inadvertently victimized.
Concomitantly a good number of student presentations were one of the components of the programme, who spoke under different subthemes and were later felicitated with medals.
The programme was carried out under the supervision of Principal Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Sohail while the proceedings were jointly put forth by Prof. Sajad Ahmad Sultan (Head Department of Urdu) and Deepak Kumar PTI of the College.
